I installed Red Hat 7.1. Using the PCGA-DVD51/A drive without the power adapter lets you boot from the CD. At the install command line I issued the following command: text The 'text' makes Red Hat use the text-based installer.
I had previously I deleted the D: drive and set up my Red Hat 7 partitions in that space.

The install will reboot. Log into your new Red Hat system and look around. You can shutdown to remove the CD-ROM drive with a shutdown -h now command.
Configure networking to match your environment.
Now you can rename your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and copy this XF86Config-4 (based on everyone else's) in its place. Rename it to get rid of the '.txt'.
